The Crack Between the Worlds is an ongoing research into trance healing ceremonies and the possibility of using communication with the spirit world through trance as an artistic tool.

With the support of the Flemish Governement, Van Dyck was able to attend trance healing ceremonies in Belgium, China, Brazil and Morocco and to take part in projects and residencies in China and Morocco. Above is a compilation of fragments of research, works made in collaboration with spirit guides, texts written in trance about the limit as a site for an encounter with the divine, where the impossible can manifest itself and bodies spiritualise.
